The sound of the sea of Cesenatico
Your journey begins at Piazza Costa, just a few meters away, one of the landmarks of our town. It is the large square in front of the Grand Hotel, with its retro-style Ferris wheel. From this square, the three shopping streets also start. They feature boutiques, cafes, bars, ice cream parlors and restaurants. From the beach, on the other hand, you can also see the fishermen's huts, buildings on wooden stilts that the locals use: this is how they are able to enjoy the best of the catch of the day.
The heart of the historic village
Built in the 1500s to a design by Leonardo da Vinci, the Canal Port connects the sea to the oldest and most authentic part of the ancient village of Cesenatico. The boats of our sailors are moored and ready to reach the open sea, and right at the end of the harbor you can see the oldest fishing boats in the floating section of the Maritime Museum. Explore the narrow streets that branch off from the harbor: little restaurants and small stores give the town a different atmosphere every day, as do the street markets that enliven the Piazza delle Conserve. It is a magical place, which takes its name from the large ice houses used to preserve fish, which can still be seen in the center of the small square.
The wonder of Romagna
After admiring the sea, leave it behind for a moment and begin to explore a whole new area. The hinterland is like a large painting, a landscape featuring hills and valleys, embellished with medieval villages with their castles and fortresses. From the Republic of San Marino, with its three towers on Mount Titano, to San Leo, with its fortress rising from the rock, to Montefiore, with its castle overlooking the Conca Valley. And then Santarcangelo, with its historic center full of winding alleys, cozy bars and stories to tell. There is so much to discover and experience here!
There is no end to the fun
Italy's largest theme park is right here in Romagna: it's Mirabilandia, where you can experience the best attractions. We are official partners of the park. If you want to visit it, we have special benefits for you!
There are also many other theme parks! For animal lovers, we recommend Oltremare in Riccione, the Cattolica Aquarium and the Butterfly House in Cervia. To discover enchanted kingdoms, there's Italia in Miniatura and Fiabilandia. If water is your element, try Atlantica in Cesenatico (with our All Inclusive basis, the ticket is always included) and Aquafan in Riccione.
